With the tag line of “This is what awesome looks like,” the Palmer Golf Team is third on the Fab Five, and are ending the season with an 9-10 record; one of the best records they have had in years. Chris Freeman a strong leader, and senior, leads the team in best score; while juniors Stephen Desaulniers, Daniel Jones, Benjamin Canning, Nick Barone, Josh Lloyd, and Tyler France all contribute to the team. The underclassmen, Nick Gullini, Michael Frydryk, Jon Houle, Tyler Kirk, Nick Jones, Tyler Bigda, Jeff Martin, and Matthew Freeman are really stepping up. This year they are only playing one Division II team, with the rest of the year facing Division I teams; Palmer is Division II. Palmer has had some major wins against Westfield and Northampton. The real story is Stephen Desaulniers (Junior) and Jon Houle (Sophomore) playing the number 1 and 2 spots. They both are a powerhouse and lead the team in low scoring. They work well together, while keeping each other in check with the game. Also Michael Frydryk came out of the blue to be one of the youngest players to make Western Mass. The Palmer Golf Team will have a promising year next fall. |
