Library Resources
The Library contains a versatile collection of fiction and nonfiction
books, magazines, reference sources, and multimedia materials.
Through the Palmer Affiliated Library System, the Library also provides
access to numerous online databases. http://palmer.lib.ma.us/pals/omp.html
Library Program
Students in grades 1 through 4 attend regularly scheduled library
classes taught by Mrs. Reed, a certified library teacher.
These classes emphasize good library citizenship and help
foster a love of books. Students also participate in projects
that integrate classroom content, literature, and research
skills. These projects are collaboratively planned, implemented,
and evaluated by Mrs. Shary and the classroom teachers.
Kindergarteners have the opportunity to listen to a book when they
visit the library for story time, which is provided by Mrs. Parent.
Circulation Policy
Students in grades 1 through 4 are allowed to check out two books,
audio books, or magazines per visit. Kindergarteners may check out one
picture book at a time. Items are loaned for two weeks and may be renewed
or exchanged during library classes or at any open circulation period.
Those students with overdue items are free to use resources while in
the Library, but may not borrow materials until their books have been
paid for, returned, or replaced.
For more information, please contact
Mrs.
Reed at 413-283-4300.
